Do the thing, try the thing - feel some joy.

“Let’s go somewhere
we can put
everything down
and rest our toes
in the sea.”
Sea is part of the Sweet Nothings series — a collection of poetic risograph prints combining original typewritten reflections with quiet, colourful forms.
New for June 2026, this risograph was born after a much needed seaside escape. It’s a reflective piece that calls you to go somewhere you can put everything down and just be human for a little bit. When the pressures of everyday life are getting too much, sometimes it feels like the least sensible thing to do is rest, but often it’s the most useful.
This is one for those called to sea to recharge, for memories of coastal walks and days at the seaside.

follows through to surprise.”

Signed and numbered by the artist, this piece is edition 3 of 10 and comes ready to hang in a bright pink square frame.

Destiny was inspired by the belief that we are constantly moving towards the people, places and versions of ourselves we are meant to become, even when we cannot yet see where the journey leads.

"Go put yourself into the path of potentially good things."
A framed, hand-printed woodcut carrying the word 'Go' as its title — a small push towards taking the leap rather than waiting for certainty.
Hand printed in rust orange onto Japanese shoji paper, then framed in a navy frame, ready to hang. This is an Artist's Proof — 1 of only 2 APs pulled outside the main numbered edition (still to be printed) — and is sold as an "imperfect": it carries the creasing, texture and small irregularities of shoji paper and hand-pulled woodblock printing that make it genuinely one of a kind.
A Note on This Piece
As an Artist's Proof and an "imperfect," this print sits outside the numbered edition. Expect visible texture from the woodblock, natural creasing in the shoji paper, and subtle ink variation — evidence of the hand in the making, not a flaw to correct. If you love a flat, uniform print, this may not be the one for you. If you're drawn to the marks of a hand-pulled process, it's a lovely — and slightly rare — way in.

A bit about the artist
Emily Grenville-Grey (b. 1991) is a painter and printmaker based in South East London.
Until the pandemic, she was a frustrated maths graduate working in banking and tech, running market stalls at the weekend selling knitting kits and teaching craft workshops to try and find creative balance. During lockdowns, she took up painting, then printmaking, in an exploration of self and as somewhere to scream.
For severals years she studied at The Art Academy and took short courses at The Royal Drawing School as she stepped away from tech, starting to share Sweet Nothings in 2023 and co-founding Something Good Workshops, where she teaches crafts and printmaking, in 2025.
Sweet Nothings have been an important part of the journey of committing to life as a full time creative, a sharing of points of reflection and hopes of the heart through risograph, cyanotype, and screenprint, in case they might help others to self-affirm, slow down and follow mad new ways of living too.
I print my work at PageMasters in Lewisham, Sonsoles Print Studio in Peckham and from home.
